How To Filter Items In Training and Deployment Logs


You can filter items in dropdown menus based on your K9’s type by adding the K9 type to their profile and selecting it in various training and deployment fields. Once implemented, your handlers will see relevant dropdown options based on their K9 specialty in training and deployment logs.
Note: To implement K9 filtering in your Dogteampro software, the logged-in user must have “Administrator” permissions.

Add K9 Type to K9 Profile

To filter by K9 type, you first need to add the K9 type to the K9's profile. For detailed steps on how to do this, please refer to this article. How to Add, Edit, or Deactivate a K9.

Add The K9 Type To Your Training And Deployments

Next, you’ll need to add the K9 type to the relevant fields in your training and deployment logs.

Below are the customizable fields:
  • Training Logs: Odors (Training Items), Training Exercises
  • Deployment Logs: Deployment Activities, Evidence Items

How to Add K9 Types to Fields

The steps for adding K9 types to any of the fields are similar:


  1. For Odors: Click on the Odors option in the left menu.
  2. For Training Exercises: Open the Training dropdown, then select Exercises and Results from the left menu.
  3. For Deployment Activities: Open the Deployment dropdown, then select Activities and Results.
  4. For Evidence Items: Open the Deployment dropdown, then select Evidence Items from the left menu.

Create or Edit an Item
    • To add a new item, click Create.
    • To modify an existing item, hover over it and click Edit.


Select K9 Types: In the dropdown, choose all applicable K9 types. After selecting the K9 types, click Save.
Note: If you leave the K9 Type field empty, the app will show the item to all K9s.

Once you've implemented these changes, only items specific to that type and items without a type will be shown.
