How to Add New Training Exercises and Results

Accurately documenting your K9's training is an important step in tracking their progress. From adding training scenarios to capturing detailed results, Dogteampro makes it easy to manage all aspects of your training sessions.

Note: This feature is available in your agency settings, and only administrators can make changes.

Training Exercises

Dogteampro administrators can create or edit existing training exercises. You can also choose if the exercise will require item placement (such as odors or other training items) and enable handlers to record the start and end times for each exercise.

How to Add New Training Exercises

To add a new exercise, follow these steps:

Go into the agency settings.
Click on the Training Options dropdown.
Select Exercises & Results.

In the training exercises table (on the left), click the Create button in the top right corner.
Add the exercise name and K9 type.

Note: Leaving the K9 type field blank will make the exercise available to all K9 teams. Adding a specific K9 type will filter the exercise to show only for K9s with the corresponding specialty.

Click Save to apply the changes.

How to Add Results For Odors (Training Items) in Training Exercises

Note: Once enabled, this will replace the exercise results dropdown with an individual toggle option for every odor or training item. You can manage these items directly within the exercise.

If the exercise requires item placement, you can toggle this option on during the setup:

Turn on the Requires Item Placement option.

How to Capture Exercise Start and End Times

Note: This will add a new feature in the training exercise result section, allowing handlers to enter the specific start and end times. Additionally, this will enable users to adjust the weather conditions based on the time selected.

To track the time for each exercise, you can enable start and end time options:

Turn on the Set Start/End Times option.

How to Edit or Delete a Training Exercise

To edit or delete an existing exercise:

Hover over the exercise you want to modify in the table.
Click on the Edit icon.

From here, you can:

Update the exercise name, K9 type, item placement requirement, or start/end times.
Click on Delete to remove the exercise entirely.

Click Save to apply your changes.

Exercise Results

Recording accurate results for each training session is key to tracking K9 performance. Dogteampro allows users to add and customize exercise results. Additionally, it allows you to track whether the outcome was negative, neutral, or positive.

How to Add New Training Exercise Results

To add a new training result:

Click on the Create button in the top right of the exercise results table (on the right side).

Add the result name and optionally select a result type (negative, neutral, or positive).
Click Save to apply the changes.

How to Edit or Delete Training Exercise Results

To make changes to an existing result:

Hover over the result in the table.
Click on the Result Name to edit.
Change the result name or type, then click Save.

To delete a result:

Click on the Delete option next to the result name.
Confirm the deletion to remove the result from the list.
