How to Add a Map to a Log
To access the map on either a training exercise or deployment activity, click the “Create Map” option at the bottom of the screen.
Inside the map you can …
- Add Marker - A marker is any item you want to add to show the location of a key component in a training or deployment using a selection of icons, for example to indicate the location of evidence, a person or a vehicle.
- Draw a Track - This feature allows you to draw the planned training exercise route and the dog’s actual results during a training, and the route the dog or person took during a deployment after the event has occurred. To draw a track, place your mouse on the starting point and hold down the mouse as you draw the track.
- GPS Track - Allows you to capture the route of the device while following the dog or person in real-time during a training or deployment. To start just click the button and make sure the program has access to your device’s GPS. To stop the GPS track just click the stop button.
When you have finished entering data on the map, click the
“Save map” button at the top of the screen. This will take you back to the training or deployment log.
Note: In a training log, you will be able to draw a track for both the planned exercise route and the dog’s results (see screenshot below).
- Remember to click "Save map" to lock your changes in.
- When you print a log the map will be embedded in the log.
